Tsinghua University and Sustainable Development Goals: Action and Progress

The 2023 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by the 193 Member States of the United Nations (UN) in September 2015. As key partners in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the role of top universities is even more critical (Falzetti, 2021). According to Zhou et al. (2019) universities have a more compelling role to play in building social human capital, economic development, poverty eradication, good governance and building more equitable societies to ensure the maintenance of peace and stability. Even the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda recognises that some Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) can be better achieved through university interventions.
